Overview
The onset of the new millennium witnesses the changing role that HR has come to play inside and outside the organisation. HR holds the key to the success of the organisation. The focus has thus shifted to Strategic Human Resource Management. The Strategic HR role focuses on aligning HR strategies and practices with business strategies. Thus, the capacity of a business to execute the strategies is increased. Translating the business strategies into HR practices helps the business in three ways:
- The business can adapt to change because the time from conception to the execution of the strategy is shortened
- The business can better meet customer demands because its customer service strategies have been translated into specific policies and practices
- The business can achieve financial performance through its more effective execution of strategy
Given the above it is imperative for organizations to build strong people management systems to attract, motivate and retain their people. Therefore, it is required to build HR systems that support and supplement the business goals of the organization. Also it is important for systems to be integrated in order to give meaningful results. At Zeus Consulting, we endeavor to become a HR business partner for our clients thus leading the clients to meet the competitive challenges ahead.
Why Engagement Survey
Engagement satisfaction surveys help employers measure and understand their employees' attitude, opinions, motivation, and satisfaction. Employee satisfaction is the terminology used to describe whether employees are happy and contented and fulfilling their desires and needs at work that gauges employee satisfaction in areas such as management and teamwork.
It is important to ensure that leaders and employees at all levels of the organization are aligned to the culture of the organization, and living it. There are many ways leaders manifest alignment - with the organization's culture. These include:
- management,
- understanding of mission and vision,
- empowerment,
- teamwork,
- communication, and
- Co-worker interaction
Alternatively, findings from survey can also be referred to as the “way of life” or “Identity” of the organization. The survey allows an organization to understand the underlying factors about culture in their organization.
